Students log in to Prodigy Math at play.prodigygame.com with their username and password, then choose Home or School and pick Math. If the school set up Google, Clever, Apple, or ClassLink login, use that button instead of typing a username and password. The whole login takes less than a minute once you know your details.
Login steps
- Open your browser and go to play.prodigygame.com. This is the game login portal.
- Enter your username and password in the fields shown, then select the Log In button.
- Choose Home or School. Pick School when you are in class and Home when you play outside school.
- Select the game you want to play. Choose Math to open Prodigy Math.
- Your game loads. If the game asks about a new teacher, enter your class code once to join the new class.
Your username and password usually come from your teacher or from a parent who made the account. If you do not know them, ask your teacher or parent. Do not make a second account, because your progress lives on the first one.
Login with Google or Clever
If your account was created with Google, Clever, Apple, or ClassLink, select that button on the login page instead of typing a username and password. You will sign in through your school account and land straight in the game. One limit matters: Google and Clever login only work on the Prodigy website, not inside the Prodigy Math app. If your school uses one of these, always play in the browser at play.prodigygame.com.
New student: first login with a class code
If you have never played before and your teacher gave you a class code, select New player on the login page. The game asks a few questions, then you enter the class code and create your username and password. The code links your new account to your teacher’s class at once. The full steps are in how to join with a class code.
Saved logins on shared devices
On a device you used before, your username may appear under Recent Login. Select your username, enter your password, and select Log In. On a shared school computer, do not save your password in the browser, and log out when you finish so the next student cannot open your account.
If login fails
Check the spelling of your username first, then check that caps lock is off, because passwords are case sensitive. If the page says the details are wrong and you are sure they are right, your password may have changed, or you may be on the wrong login page. Teachers and parents have their own login pages, so if you are a student, make sure you are at play.prodigygame.com and not on the teacher login. The full fix list is in Prodigy not working: login and app problems, and the reset steps are in Prodigy password reset and account recovery.
Frequently asked questions
What is my Prodigy username?
Your username is the name your teacher or parent chose when the account was made. It is not your email address. If you lost it, ask your teacher, or ask a parent to look it up from the parent dashboard under Manage Child.
Can I log in to Prodigy on the app?
Yes, with your username and password. But Google and Clever login only work on the website, so if your school uses one of those, log in through the browser instead.
What if my school uses Clever?
Select the Clever button on the login page at play.prodigygame.com and sign in with your school Clever account. Do not type a Prodigy username and password in that case.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Ask your teacher or a parent to reset it. Students cannot reset a password by email on their own, because student accounts have no email address. The steps are in the password reset guide.
Do I need the class code every time I log in?
No. You enter the class code once to join the class. After that, you just log in and play. The game may show a New Teacher prompt when your teacher changes, and then you enter the new code once.
