Parents log in to Prodigy at prodigygame.com with their parent account email address and password, or with Google if the account was created that way. Login opens the Parent Dashboard, where you can see your child’s progress, set goals, and manage membership. A parent account is free, and you need at least one child account linked to it before the dashboard shows anything.
Login steps
- Go to Prodigy at prodigygame.com and select the Log In button from the upper right corner of the page.
- Enter your parent account email address and password. Use the same email address you used when you created the parent account, or the same email you used at membership checkout.
- If you signed up with Google, select Google instead of typing an email and password.
- Select Log in. You land on your Parent Dashboard.
These steps are for the Prodigy website. The Parent Dashboard is a website feature, so log in through a browser. Your child plays the game separately at play.prodigygame.com with their own username and password, as explained in Prodigy login for students.
Create a free parent account
If you do not have a parent account yet, sign up free on the Prodigy homepage. Choose the parent option, enter your email address, and create a password. After signup, link your child using the steps below. Until a child is linked, the dashboard stays empty, because there is no progress to show yet.
Link a child to your account
- Log in to your parent account and open your Parent Dashboard.
- Select your name in the top right corner, then select Manage Child. If you have more than one child, open My children from the same menu and select Add a Child on the child’s card.
- Choose the option that says your child already has an account.
- Enter your child’s username and password, then select Add a Child.
- Your child’s account is now linked. You will see their progress on your dashboard.
If your child logs in with Google, the username and password fields do not apply. Follow the on screen prompts for a Google linked account instead, and link with the same Google account your child uses to play.
Retrieve your child’s username and password
Once a child is linked, you can look up their login details any time. From your dashboard, select your name in the top right corner, then select Manage Child. If you have more than one child, select Manage on the child’s card. Your child’s username and password appear on the Manage Child screen. If the password field is empty, the account was created with a single sign on partner such as Google, Clever, or ClassLink, and your child must log in with those credentials instead.
What the Parent Dashboard shows
The dashboard is where you follow your child’s learning. It shows a Report Card with recent progress, Goal Progress for the goals you set, and Practice Areas for extra practice on weak skills. If you have more than one child linked, use the dropdown menu by your child’s name at the top of the page to switch between them. You can also switch between the Math and English dashboards at the top of the page. Some tools, such as Practice Areas, need a membership on the child account. Membership itself is managed from your parent account, as explained in Prodigy membership cost and what is free.
If login fails
Check that you are using the email address from your parent account signup, not your child’s username. Parents log in with an email address, while students log in with a username. If you signed up with Google, use the Google button, because an email password will not work for that account. If you forgot your password, use the reset link on the login page. If the login page sends you into the game instead of the dashboard, your Google account may be linked to your child’s username; in that case, type your parent email address by hand instead of using the Google button.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Prodigy parent account free?
Yes. Creating a parent account and following your child’s progress is free. Membership is an optional paid extra for game features.
How do I see my child’s progress?
Log in to your parent account, open the Parent Dashboard, and pick your child from the dropdown at the top. The Report Card shows what they practised and how they did.
My child logs in with Google. How do I link them?
Follow the on screen prompts for a Google linked account when you add a child. Do not enter a username and password, because a Google linked account has none.
I forgot my parent password. What do I do?
Use the reset link on the login page. Prodigy emails a reset link to your registered email address. If you signed up with Google, reset the password with Google instead.
Can I manage membership from the Parent Dashboard?
Yes. Membership is bought and cancelled from your parent account, on the Memberships page. The steps are on the membership cost guide.
