No, you cannot trade pets with other players in Prodigy. There is no trading system, no trade button, and no way to give a pet from your team to a friend. Every pet on your team has to be caught by you, by battling it in the wild and rescuing it. If someone offers to trade you a pet, they cannot do it through the game, and you should be careful, because that offer is often the start of a scam.
Why there is no pet trading
Prodigy is built as a learning game for children, and pets are a reward for playing and answering math questions yourself. If players could trade pets, a new player could simply be handed the strongest pets without playing, which would break the point of earning them. That is why the game gives every player the same path: travel to the right zone, battle the wild pet, and rescue it into your team.
The game also has no trading menu, no trade chat, and no way to send items or pets to another account. Anything that looks like a trade offer outside the game, on a video, in a chat, or on a website, is not part of Prodigy at all. If you are new to pets, start with Prodigy pets: how to catch and evolve.
How to get the pet you want instead
- Find out which zone the pet lives in. The Prodigy pets list: all pets and where to find them shows which kinds of pets live in each zone, and the in game pet book shows the current list.
- Travel to that zone and battle the wild pets you meet there. Keep battling until the pet you want appears.
- Wear the pet down in battle by answering math questions to cast spells, then rescue it when the game offers the chance.
- Level the pet up by battling with it, and it will evolve into a stronger form as it grows.
- If the pet is rare, keep trying. Rare pets appear less often, so a few trips to the zone are normal, and a higher level wizard has an easier time in the later zones where the rarest pets live.
What you can do with friends
You cannot give a pet to a friend, but you can still play together. Friends can duel each other, compare teams, and help each other work out where a pet lives and which element beats which boss. Playing together is also the fastest way to learn the game, because a friend who already caught a pet can tell you exactly which zone they found it in and what level they were when it appeared. To learn about duels, see Prodigy friends and duels.
Trade scams to watch out for
Because trading does not exist, every trade offer is a trick. The common ones are: someone asks for your password so they can log in and give you a pet, someone asks you to pay real money for a rare pet, or someone sends a link to a fake Prodigy site that steals your login. None of these can give you a pet, because pets cannot move between accounts at all.
Stay safe with three rules. Never share your password with anyone, not even a friend. Never pay real money for a pet, an account, or an item. Never log in through a link someone sends you, always open Prodigy yourself. If someone pressures you to trade, tell a parent or teacher and block them in the game.
Frequently asked questions
Can you trade pets in Prodigy?
No. Prodigy has no player to player pet trading system, so pets cannot be given, swapped or sold between players.
Can you give a pet to a friend in Prodigy?
No. There is no way to send a pet from your team to another player. Your friend has to catch the same pet themselves in the wild.

No. The game has no trading menu or trade button, and no update has added one. Any video or post showing pet trading is either fake or showing a different game.
Can you trade pets for Magicoins or gold?
No. Magicoins and gold are spent in the game’s shops on items and gear, not on trading pets with other players.
How do I get a rare pet my friend has?
Ask your friend which zone they found it in, travel there yourself, and battle the wild pets until it appears. Then rescue it, level it up, and evolve it into a stronger form.
